Monumental cemetery
The monumental cemetery hosts and celebrates since 1886 the famous people of our city, with their magnificent graves created by the greatest artists and sculptores of the 18th and 19th centuries. At the entrance, the Famedio welcomes you in a fascinating room with a starred blue sky and the memory of eminent protagonists of art, society, culture and history. A walk in the huge graveyard to discover the impressive and imposing funeral monuments of Bocconi, Branca, Campari, Falck and Motta, Toscanini and Marinetti.
The monumental cemetery can be considered an evoking open air museum with more than 5000 graves created by Bistolfi, Castiglioni, Fontana, Manzù and Pomodoro.
